Lou’s Views – OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Penetrating Oil Review

I have recently been out and purchased the OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil from Boots. I have to say I am really impressed with this product. Having hair that naturally goes greasy quite quickly I was a bit apprehensive to putting oil in my hair because I have used a similar product before and wasn’t too impressed, however, since going ombre and having bleach in my hair I have found the ends of my hair had been getting very dry. I decided to give this a go to try and get my hair looking and feeling healthy again.

Sometimes the saying a little goes a long way isn't always the case but with this product it is!! I literally used a pea sized amount, rubbed it into my palms and ran it through my hair (ends only). If you have greasy hair as I do I wouldn't advise you put this near the roots. I used it when my hair was still a little damp as instructed and it really did go a long way, I think using anymore would possibly make the hair heavy and greasy. The end result was silky soft hair :) After around 3-4 uses my hair looked renewed and in great condition. It comes in a 100ml bottle (can see this lasting a while) and the packaging looks great too, at £6.99 I definitely recommend this!

You Cant Beat A Good Purse

This is going to be short and sweet, but I had to write a post about my DKNY purse. Since I can remember I have always chosen to have DKNY Purses. Last year my purse was on its way out so I decided it was time for a new one.

Even though my thoughts were immediately to scan for a new DKNY I decided instead to use a River Island voucher I had received as a gift. Now River Island is a favourite high street store of mine and I really enjoyed the purse I bought......unfortunately though it just didn't compare to my usual DKNY's. Before long it was already looking worn.

A new purse was needed. I looked no further than DKNY! Lucky for me this all fell around Christmas and my gorgeous boyfriend got me this treasure!!!!

I absolutely love it! The colour is very now and feminine and it suits my needs perfectly! There are 2 note sections (one perfect for receipts), 2 zip up coin compartments, an open pocket (I keep my prescriptions and shopping lists in there), and a whopping 10 card holder sections. And even with all this space its still a relatively compact purse!! I am not sure on the price as this was a gift from my boyfriend but I think it was £65, DKNY tend to be around the £50-£75 price range. Love it!! What do you think? Do you have any favourite purses??

Treated My Wardrobe!!

Hey guys! So today I want to share with you a few items that I have recently purchased for my wardrobe! I don't know about you, but sometimes I feel I get to a stage where I am sick of the clothes in my wardrobe.....I feel like nothing is flattering, I've worn it too many times, I'm bored of it. Does this ever happen to you?? I have been particularly feeling this way for the last few weeks (whether it's the cold I've been suffering with has made me feel grumpy and unattractive I don't know)....sooo I decided to go out and buy just a few things to wear for the weekend! The first thing I want to share is this:

OMG I love this coat!!! This is the Blue Check Drape Slouchy Coat from River Island. I saw this coat on the River Island website and knew I had to buy it. There is a lot of material on this coat and the fit is taken from a classic 60's style. It features two large pockets on both sides adding to the look and the sleeves are 3/4 length.  I love that this is slimmer around the arms and the material elsewhere is so oversized (love the oversized trend). The coat itself is quite heavy due to the amount of material but it is not a thick material. There are no buttons or zips to do this coat up (I am pleased there isn't to be honest as it would hinder the style) but this does mean this not the warmest coat out there, however I think it is perfect as we are coming into the March/April months when the weather gets milder. It costs £65 which I think is a good price and I have had nothing but compliments on it. A must buy!

Next, I needed a casual t-shirt to wear in the day so I picked up this:

I really liked how simple this tshirt was, it folds up on the sleeves which I think gives it feminine touch and it is made of lightweight cotton. The logo on this t-shirt isn't printed on with a different material on so you don't have t worry about it peeing off in the wash. I love the light grey colour and it teams up really nicely with some skinny jeans. This was also from River Island and cost £18.

I knew I wanted a smart/casual top that would be suitable both in the day but could also be used for less casual outings if teamed up with skinny's and heels. I found this:

I picked this up from the clothes section in Sainsbury's as part of the Gok Wan collection. I adore how feminine this colour is, pink, peach and other pastel colours are great for a girly look and this fits so beautifully, if you are looking for a flattering fit this top has it! The detail is also very feminine bringing a really classy look to this top, this includes mesh around the neck and chest and also at the bottom but it is subtle enough to not be revealing. This cost me £22 and was a great look for drinks at the local on Saturday night so I am very pleased with it. a very good find for my wardrobe :)

I was and still am in desperate need for new footwear, ballet pumps, ankle boots and midway boots in particular. I managed to stumble across these little beauties:

I came across them in Sainsbury's and immediately loved the colour and the gold buckle detailing (obsession with gold again!!) when I saw them my initial thought was 'they will look great with my new slouch coat', I was right, they go so well for a casual outfit! The material of these shoes is quite soft but really sturdy so I don't think they will damage easily. At a price of £15 they are a bargain and bring a nice touch to a simple daytime outfit.

Have you done any shopping lately? I would love to hear about any finds as I am always looking for clothing inspirations :) comment below xx

Mr Grey Will See You Now?

50 Shades of Grey has finally hit the big screen and it seems to be a must see movie, especially for the ladies! I am one of those ladies who are keen to go and watch Mr Grey, even if its to sworn over the gorgeous Jamie Dornan. I haven’t got around to going to watch it yet but I am eagerly anticipating it especially since hearing so many mixed reviews about it…….some love it some hate it! I think some peoples negativity comes from the fact it isn’t as raunchy as the book but after reading the books I think you have to expect there to be changes in the movie because some things would be just too explicit!

Anyway I am looking forward to seeing it and making my own assumption. Have you seen it yet? What are your thoughts on it? Is it worth a watch? Let me know in the comments below :)

Lou’s View’s – Bleach London Silver Shampoo review

This product = Yes Yes Yes. How many people can empathise with me on how annoying highlighted or bleached hair can be when it decides to turn brassy!! I chose to ombre my hair after toying with the idea for so long and I was always in ore of how good it looked, I started with some subtle flashes of blonde coming through and gradually built it up to have full on ombre. I loved it at first but after time I started to experience a different tone to my hair and not a good tone! Brassy, canary yellow tones were started to make my hair just look scruffy!

I tried different colour correcting shampoos and conditioners, the best being John Frieda colour renew tone corrector, but the affects were too subtle and the brassiness, even though slightly better, was still there! Getting frustrated I was about to phone my very good friend who happens to also be my hairdresser and tell her to make me brunette again when I stumbled across this beauty in Boots! As a last ditch attempt and not breaking the bank at only £5 I decided to buy it. I am so happy I did! This product is amazing!

Even though this says shampoo, to me this is just a toner. The consistency is very thin and deep purple in colour. I put this all over my blonde, left for about 2 minutes and washed off and followed by a wash and condition with the John Frieda colour renew. After just this one wash all of my yellow brassy tones were gone!! My hair looked like it had just been re-coloured and I’ve read that if you leave this on for longer the effects are even stronger, but do be careful as some people have reported lilac tones after leaving it on for too long.

Overall very happy customer and would 100% recommend. Even though I am now booked in to have some low lights put in to make me a bit darker I am still super impressed and will continue to use this to keep my blonde bits looking fresh!!

*Just Note* just be careful not to spill or splash this product as it can stain. Also, read the instructions carefully as using this silver shampoo too often can overtone your hair.

Comic Relief – Raising Awareness with Fun

Comic Relief 2015, also known as Red Nose Day, is almost upon us. I love comic relief, raising money and awareness for charity whilst watching some of our favourite celebs take on challenges. This year we will get to see things from the comic relief danceathon to Dermot O’Leary’s Day of Dance to Mark Watson's 27 hour Comedy Marathon. My favourite this year though has got to be the Great Comic Relief Bake Off.

The second episode was on this week featuring Jonathan Ross, Gok Wan, Abbey Clancy and Blog sensation Zoe Sugg (Zoella). Jonathan Ross provided much of the episodes comedy with his versions of profiteroles turning out like pancakes and Zoe’s cake almost choking Mary Berry. Its fun to watch celebs race against the clock to bake different things to become star baker. I won’t reveal who won star baker this week just in case anyone wants to catch up on this episode. Its worth watching if you haven’t already done so.

It’s great to make a donation for this cause, and lovely when businesses and local people get involved. I think my place of work will be having a dress down day to raise some funds. Let me know in the comments if you are doing anything to raise money for comic relief, what about the ‘make a face’ for comic relief, getting involved?

Love, Hearts and Sweet Things

Remember Love isn’t just for Valentine’s Day and with this in mind here is a quick post just to let you know what I used and where I got my valentines décor from for inspiration in case you have any romantic nights in coming up, or simply want to spoil a loved one to show them that you love them all year round and not just one day a year :)

To set the scene, candles are a must. I am a big fan of candles they make rooms seem more cosy, warm and inviting and scented ones make any space smell great! I purchased a number of different candles from both Sainsbury’s and Asda, both stores usually have a great selection. I bought heart shaped tea lights (pack of 6) which were £3 and a couple of heart shaped tea light holders which were £2 each from Asda, and from Sainsbury’s I bought 2 star shaped tea light holders which were £6 and I love them because they have a gold colour to them (loving gold and copper colours right now) and a bag of 25 plain tea lights which were only £1.50 (bargain)! I then bought a pack of rose petals (also from Asda) costing £1 to spell out the words ‘I <3 U’. To make dinner that extra bit special I purchased a love heart plate set from Sainsbury’s and teamed it up with 2 wine glasses and a bottle of sparkling rose. The finishing touch was heart shaped sparklers in our dinner, these were from Sainsbury’s and cost £3 for 2 which may seem a lot just for 2 sparklers but they looked cute and made dinner more exciting!

Not too costly and made a perfectly themed evening :) what did you do for Valentine’s Day, any tips for next year? Comment below :)

Love Is In The Air

Well as it has recently been Valentine’s day, I thought I would share with you a Valentine’s post. Valentine’s day for me turned into more of a valentines weekend with some amazing surprises <3 strangely my lovely mom asked me to finish work early on Friday (13th….not so unlucky for me!) I had no idea what this was for, so I finished work early for the day went home to get showered and changed and only then was I told I was off to the theatre to have a 3 course meal at the stage side restaurant (delish!) and watch Matthew Bourne’s Edward Scissorhands!! Wow what a show! The dancing was simply stunning and even with no talking throughout, the cast captured the emotion of the story perfectly. It was imaginative and enchanting. All the were elements so beautiful it made me teary eyed!
Little did I know what was going on back home whilst I was out enjoying this magical show! To my amazement, my other half had secretly arranged entering my house to set up a surprise for me! Unfortunately for me my electricals seemed to be on the way out, in the last couple of weeks my dvd player mysteriously conked out and the sound on my TV kept going……but on my return I entered my room to find a gorgeous smart TV mounted where my old TV used to be!!! Wow!! To say I was impressed is an understatement :) plus I had lots of Valentine’s goodies on my bed! Perfect Friday night!
We then spent Saturday (the big V day) together just enjoying each other’s company and enjoying the home made marble chocolates I made for him (amazing!) followed by an evening which I set the living room up all romantically (I will do a post of what items I used and where I got the from next) and ordered dominos pizza (not so romantic) but it was very much enjoyable to spend time with both my mom and my boyfriend over the weekend :)

Hello World!!

Ok so I wasn’t really sure how to start my blog so I’ve decided to just dive in and start by firstly saying ‘hi’ :) I have finally decided to start blogging after years of following other lifestyle blogs thinking about how I myself would love to create one, so here it is. The time spent between my day job as a business coordinator (couldn’t get much further away from fashion and lifestyle), my hobbies and my general social schedule, is usually filled with trawling the net to discover new products (make-up, gadgets, movies, planners……you name it), fashion musts and the general lives of other bloggers and reviewers. The products I buy, things I try and day to day routines are always reviewed in my head so why not let you guys have a taste of what I like and dislike and what goes on in my semi normal life. I will be blogging about pretty……much……anything……so I hope you find my blogs of some interest and that they might even give you some ideas about what products you might like to try. Enjoy!
